Message from the LCIA President (June 2017)

Rob Pattermann – LCIA President

Greetings to all our Lake Cavanaugh family and friends.

As we continue our “Swing in Summer,” it seems we’re all still waiting for the summer sun to arrive and stay! Memorial Day was a great weekend to remember at  Lake Cavanaugh. We had beautiful weather and activities galore! Congratulations to the Lake Cavanaugh Fire Auxiliary for another outstanding Pancake Breakfast and “Lake Cavanaugh” logo items sale!

The first LCIA general meeting of the year was very well attended and offered much lake information for those in attendance. We also “kicked off” our first live music big band dance by the “Skagit Swings” Jazz Band at the community center. It was also well attended and enjoyed by all.

July will prove to be just as busy as we again have many community activities planned. July 1-4 will be the annual Rummage Sale at the Community Center. This is a major fund-raiser for the LCIA. Please plan to donate good used items to the sale and donate by buying good “stuff” you need for your home!

July 4th will also include the annual Parade followed by the Ice Cream Social! This is always a great event for adults, but especially for our kids! The parade starts at 10:00AM. Participants should plan to be there by 9:30AM. Also in July is our “Dumpster Day” July 8th. Be sure to use this opportunity to get rid of any of those unneeded items.

Church services have begun and will continue thru September 10th. Please feel free to join us each Sunday at 10:00AM at the Community Center.

The new directory is in now available. Remember it is free to all LCIA members and available for sale @ $20 per copy. It will be available at any LCIA meeting or activity for pick-up.

We will continue to mail “hard” copies of our newsletter to all members, however if you would prefer to receive your newsletter electronically, please contact any board member or visit

We all want to recognize Christa Quackenbush, who has served on our LCIA board these past two years and will be leaving the board at the end of June.  She has done an outstanding job bringing us our fall Labor Day Dances and serving faithfully by giving of her time and talents to our community! We are thankful and appreciate her service and leadership! Thank you Christa!

If you or someone you know might be interested in serving on the LCIA board, please contact any board member. The new term will begin next fall.

We hope to see everyone at the next General Meeting of the year on Saturday, July 1th @ 10:00AM at the Community Center in the upper floor meeting room.
